Throughout my entire life, well intentioned mentors of mine have told me:

“Just pick something and stick to it, you are all over the map and no one is going to take you seriously if you try to be good at everything.”
— Well-intentioned mentors of mine

But I have found myself fundamentally disagreeing with that one-dimensional take on how creativity operates, especially as I have gotten older and worked in an even wider and more varied series of industries and marketing capacities throughout the USA. I am, in fact, better at what I do because of my incurable fascination with all of the creative disciplines.

The thing that these well-intentioned mentors of mine failed to understand is that our greatest talents and most formidable creative work exist at the cross-section of seemingly independent skills. The trick is in achieving mastery of the skill before moving on.

The following categories of my portfolio represent a very small portion of the creative work that my team and I have worked on over the past 8 years with clients and businesses across the United States. But this list and the itemized work by no means captures or contains everything that my crew and I are capable of. What Still Frame Storytelling fundamentally brings to the table in every collaboration that we take on is an unrelenting curiosity and irrepressible fascination with telling the story of each individual project, on the individual level, and treating the project as its very own organism from inception to release. We believe that everyone has a story to tell, and we know from experience that the wide variety of projects that we have worked on over the course of our colorful and glorious 8-year journey informs and transforms the insight that we bring into every new project.

I believe that any creative that is worth their salt will meet you in your creative process, not as an “expert” that “knows better” but as a pioneer for your brand with a glowing storyteller instinct at the very beginning. Whether you are an established brand or a brand-new enterprise, it doesn’t matter. We creatives are best served by remembering that each and every single one of our projects is a NEW opportunity to cut new ground and tell new stories that have never been heard before. Not just recycle the same old methods, where nothing new can be discovered.

Our team is dedicated to telling that new story that you bring to the table.

I’ll get off my soapbox, but I just thought it was important to express that at the outset of our versatile portfolio, and I’ll leave you with a great quote from an Adobe Creative that has shaped my journey as an “Everything Creative”.

“...I believe that our greatest talents lie at the intersections of seemingly independent skills.”

How it all started

Growing up in Toronto Ontario, my brother and I were gifted a (then) state-of-the-art Mini DV video camera and for the next 5 years of our childhood, Ryan and I spent the majority of our time filming satirical (and often dangerous) sagas in the maple forests around our house. These sagas were then lent the professional edge of worthy composers and without premeditating it, my brother and I found our love of film and conceptual design.

Here we are

Ain’t we cute

Growing up, our family moved a lot, and this had its inevitable good parts and bad parts. We learned to capture and preserve the moment, we saw the world from many different sides, our consciousnesses were expanded. But additionally, we lost touch with our peers, and I (personally) never seemed to grow old with anything.

In the 2010’s Ryan moved to L.A. to study film, work on a few major motion films, and tour with his band Goodbye Elliott. I started my own journey as an independent marketer, editor, and content developer in Nashville TN. After countless projects and many happy collaborations, our team decided to relocate to North Carolina.

After returning to North Carolina our team has had the chance to put down some roots while working with some amazing individuals and entities in Winston Salem and the Charlotte area.

What does the name mean?

Still Frame Storytelling started in 2015 and has developed into a comprehensive Content Creation Media House where any kind of dynamic content need might be delivered by a creative team dedicated to expressive brilliance, and exceptional visual storytelling.

The name Still Frame Storytelling is based on the concept that every frame should tell a story. It has been said that a “picture is worth a thousand words”, and when you understand that there are traditionally 24 frames per second, that is a whole lot of opportunity to get your message across. Our name is also our commitment that each and every aspect of your project will be tailored from start to finish for your needs.
